Air Bearing and X-Y Stage Refurbishment

There are 14 air bearings on the X-Y stage of your 1000-1500-1700 stepper. They are all vulnerable to wear and can greatly affect the quality of machine operation. Stage stalling, high servo offsets and servo disables are common problem that bad air bearings can cause. In extreme cases, loss of float can cause stage squeaking. This is caused by the bearing scraping the granite during stage movement. Which in turn, causes serious damage to the granite and can in fact ruin it. KS Equipment can rebuild air bearings to a like new condition, or replace them entirely.

We can also completey rebuild your X-Y stage here at our facility, or right at your location. We completely rebuild all air bearings, repair the theta drive, and replace the vee bearings as needed. We can replace worn or cracked stage mirrors, and repair/replace worn servomotors and drive rods. We install the reworked stage and set mirror square and guide way collimation. This leaves you with a smooth running stage with no stalling or stability problems, and greatly improved alignment and blind step.
